White Porcelain Patio & Water Rill in Dartford

This residential project in Dartford began after the old decking was removed, leaving an awkward-shaped section of garden that needed a clean new purpose. The brief was clear: it had to fit the space properly and feel slick, modern and intentional rather than patched in. Sustainable Garden Solutions delivered a smart redesign that balances crisp hard landscaping with softened edges and practical outdoor living.

We created a bright white porcelain patio that sits neatly within the footprint and instantly lifts the whole garden. To add interest without breaking the modern look, we integrated a stepping-stone water rill through the layout, bringing movement and sound while keeping the finish minimal and architectural. Although the paving lines are deliberately sharp, we built in integrated border planting around the edges so the space feels tidy and well-balanced rather than sterile.

The garden then steps up into a simple and purposeful raised beds and growing zone. Three raised veg beds introduce a “grow your own” area without taking over the garden, supported by a new shed and smart screening to block storage views and keep the overall feel calm and considered. The result is a modern outdoor living space that’s practical and easy to live with: clean porcelain detailing, a subtle water feature, planted softness and a productive corner that completes the design.
