The Butterfly Garden at RHS Badminton

Sustainable Garden Solutions helped deliver The Butterfly Garden, a Silver Medal winning show garden at RHS Badminton. Designed by Emma Atkinson Garden Design and sponsored by Silverhand Estate, the garden was created in support of Butterfly Conservation to celebrate the importance of pollinators and biodiversity.

Our team translated the design from concept into a finished show garden, working closely with the designer, sponsor and wider project team to deliver detailed hard and soft landscaping within the tight timescales of an RHS build. Careful planting, structural landscaping, water and wildlife habitat came together to create a space that felt as useful to wildlife as it was beautiful to visitors.

Judged to RHS's exceptionally high standards across horticulture, construction and design, the garden achieved zero horticultural or construction errors and was rated Good or Very Good in every category, earning a Silver Medal. Throughout the show it welcomed a steady stream of butterflies and other pollinators, bringing the work of Butterfly Conservation and the Big Butterfly Count to life for visitors.
