Residential
Curved Planter Garden Design in Longfield

This project in Longfield was one of Sustainable Garden Solutions’ earliest residential design opportunities and it became a clear sign of the direction we were heading in. The garden was a wide open space with interesting border intersections but it lacked personality. The brief was simple: introduce something unique that cut through the space, didn’t block views, didn’t feel out of place and still worked as an attractive standout feature.
We answered that with a raised, sweeping curved feature planter, shaped to mimic and mirror lines already present in the garden. It was designed to hug key points and frame a standout stone and flame focal point, giving the space movement and identity without feeling heavy or intrusive. That single element became the anchor that tied the garden together: softening edges, guiding the eye and helping the space feel more intentional.
Building on that early design move, we also created a playful modern feature terrace using mirrored geometry pulled from the plot itself. The bold forms were used to dissect views and gently encourage movement between areas which created moments where you pause, turn, sit and see the garden from a new angle. The terrace was built in machined-finish natural sandstone with crisp detailing and integrated seating to keep it practical and social while staying sharp and uncluttered. A silver flame-style feature was introduced to match the wider garden styling and tie the space together.
Over time the garden was developed further with an outdoor bar and hosting space, turning a plain plot into somewhere genuinely worth spending time. For Sustainable Garden Solutions, it was a confidence-builder and a turning point in translating nuanced customer requirements into something modern, buildable and properly personal to the people living there.
