Residential
Phased Terraced Garden Transformation in Rochester

This residential Phased Terraced Garden Transformation in Rochester, Kent was completed in stages because the installation was dramatic in both scale and complexity. It wasn’t only about the finished look. It was about access, safety and future-proofing the garden so it works properly for long-term use.
The existing space had challenging levels and tiers that needed a full rethink. Sustainable Garden Solutions re-engineered the layout to simplify movement through the garden and create a structure that feels intentional and uplifting, without losing the character that makes this part of Rochester stand out. The aim was to bring real elevation and presence, while still sitting naturally alongside the distinctive local architecture rather than fighting against it.
As the phases progressed, the change became clear. What was once awkward and restrictive became layered, usable and visually strong, with clearer flow, improved access and planting integration that softens the structure and completes the transformation.
Because the work has been phased, we’re still awaiting the final photoshoot. The finishing details are where this project really shows its quality, including complex brickwork, machined caps and highly detailed Victorian tiling that ties the whole design together.
