London SUGi Pocket Forest Delivery & Planting

This commercial public realm project in London formed part of SUGi’s pocket forest programme, where we act as a long-standing delivery support team helping install pocket forests across the UK. These are dynamic rewilding and urban greening projects that sit at the crossover of commercial groundworks and public-facing planting, with consistently high standards expected on every site.
For this London pocket forest, Sustainable Garden Solutions delivered the groundworks and supported the volunteer-led planting days, sharing expertise throughout so the planting landed properly and the site stayed organised, safe and welcoming to the public. Public realm delivery means tight controls and responsibility, and this job was delivered with SSSTS site supervision, NPORS-trained plant and machinery operation, and a strong approach to health & safety, first aid and site security as the baseline.
What made this site especially distinctive was its position within a wider corridor. It sits between two earlier pocket forest sites we had delivered in different years, so you can literally see forest succession taking place in real time: earlier planting maturing, newer planting establishing, and the whole corridor evolving year by year. It’s a tangible reminder that these projects are about long-term habitat and conservation, not just day-one impact.
