Residential
Sittingbourne New-Build Oasis with Pond & Pergola

This residential project in Sittingbourne transformed a small to medium-sized new build garden into a natural British oasis that feels calm and established, even in a brand-new setting. The garden was designed by Emma from EA Gardens, and Sustainable Garden Solutions were brought in for the build only, with a focus on delivering the design exactly as intended.
At the heart of the space is a cascading water feature and pond, designed as the main wow-factor centrepiece. It wraps around a curved composite decking area that forms a generous outdoor living zone, framed by a pergola to give the seating space structure and presence. To help the garden feel richer and more immersive, dark backdrops were used to make the natural tones and planting stand out, with the movement and sound of water adding to the atmosphere.
The supporting hard landscaping kept everything timeless and grounded. We installed camel sandstone with setts alongside Chelmer Valley clay blocks, using considered detailing to reinforce the flow of the layout and support the planting. With wildflower turf and layered textures throughout, the result is a Sittingbourne garden that feels instantly liveable and undeniably beautiful — a big change from the exposed feel that new build plots often start with.
