Rewilding Groundworks Support Nottingham

For Erwanda Forrest in Nottingham, we joined this SUGi school rewilding project as a supporting contractor delivering multi-phase groundworks support and helping the wider team deliver the project safely within a live school environment.
From day one, Sustainable Garden Solutions focused on tight site management that respected the setting and kept everyone safe while work continued during school hours. We implemented clear H&S controls, carried out service scanning, managed controlled plant movements, and maintained an organised delivery programme that worked around live spaces without disrupting the school environment.
The groundworks scope was substantial. We completed large-scale excavation across roughly 1,000m² within a wider 2,000m² working area, using large plant and machinery to shape the site for the dynamic, organic layouts required by the rewilding design. This wasn’t simply excavation, it was careful forming and shaping to create varied landforms that support long-term habitat, reinforce the purpose of the space, and help the site develop naturally over time.
Once the initial groundworks stages were complete, we supported the next phase by assisting with planting delivery. Working alongside SUGi, our teams helped manage school groups, public volunteers, and key stakeholders during volunteer-led planting days. We kept the planting organised and correctly delivered while ensuring everyone on site had a safe and positive experience.
The result is a living space designed to be used and grown into, a grassroots community project with real long-term value, delivered with the balance of commercial-level site discipline and genuine community energy through conservation and rewilding.
